Let us encapsulate your placenta for you! Each placenta encapsulation is a little different, but you can plan on an average sized placenta yielding between 125-200 capsules. Many people report positive effects from consuming their placenta in pill form.
Your placenta is collected, prepared, sliced, deyhdrated, ground, put into gelatin capsules, then packaged. The capsules are either vegetarian or non vegetarian, depending upon your desires. Your placenta capsules are then ready for consumption!
We do not know why placenta pills are reported to have the benefits that most users experiece. The known nutrients present in a placenta that are believed to give the placenta its healing properties are:
Gonadotrophin: the precursor to estrogen, progesterone and testosterone, Prolactin: promotes lactation, Oxytocin: for pain and bonding; produced during breastfeeding to facilitate bonding of mother and infant. In pharmaceutical form this is a very addictive drug because it promotes a feeling of connectedness with others,Thyroid stimulating hormone: boosts energy and helps recovery from stressful events, Cortisone: combats stress and unlocks energy stores, Interferon: stimulates the immune system to protect against infections,Prostaglandins: anti-inflammatory, Hemoglobin: replenishes iron deficiency and anemia, a common postpartum condition, Urokinase inhibiting factor and factor XIII: stops bleeding and enhances wound healing, Gammaglobulin: immune booster that helps protect against postpartum infections.

We recognize that not everyone is comfortable with a homebirth. Doula services should be made available to birthing individuals who would like the support of a doula whether it is in or out of hospital.
We also recognize that even the best midwife has her limitations and doula care helps to fill in those important gaps. Birth doulas will be there with you earlier and longer during your labor than your midwife will be. Postpartum doulas provide many more hours of support than your homebirth midwife is able to offer while running her practice. Having a birth and postpartum doula who also has a good working relationship with your midwife is an extra bonus that we are happy to offer.
We love our customers, so feel free to call between 9 AM and 8PM, email anytime!
